Weekly Fantasy: The Sapphire Wolf

By: Sophia Los

(Please note I make all these stories up)

"The story of the sapphire wolf. There once was a wolf, the only abnormal thing about him was that his coat was tinted blue, everything else about him was freakishly average, from his height to his abilities. He fell in love with another wolf, that wolf loved him back, but one day a rival pack attacked, he died saving his love and defeated every last wolf in that pack. They made a statue in honor of him, it was made out of sapphires because of his blue tinted pelt. One night that statue came alive and made his way to his loves cave, when he entered he found that she had a mate, when he saw that some of the sapphire turned back into wolf and he ran away. He came and went to many different places, but everywhere he went people marveled at him, so he hid from others. He lived a life of solitude, he grew to hate love and everything that came with it. When he saw a couple in love he pounced on one of them with his sapphire claws, and each time he did he became less and less like sapphire and more like wolf. One day he came to wander back into his packs territory, he found war and hate, he got the story from a dying wolf, this is what he said. "There once was a wolf in love with another, they had such a strong love that one died for the other, a statue was made in honor of him, but around a year later someone coveted his love and forced her to be his mate. That night the statue disappeared the wolf claimed it as a sign and the pack hunted the wolf that forced her, they found out he was a spy from a rival pack and they have been at war ever since" when he heard that he turned back to wolf and howled every wolf that heard it froze, he butchered the other pack and raced through his to find his mate, they nuzzled and licked, and lived there life happily after that." A woman said to some children in front of her, there were books behind her and she looked to be in a library, "Now children this is a sign that love will always come through in the end."
