7 Wonders of the World

There are many beautiful structures in the world, nearly all done by people, and other wonders done by nature. But there are a few that really catch our eye, and sends tourists miles around the world, scurrying to these sights, to look at the wonders of these edifices. So join me on this visual tour to see these formations, done by hand, or nature.

  1. The Eiffel Tower

Bonsoir! This is number one on the list of the seven wonders of the world! I hope you will enjoy this visual tour! The Eiffel Tower was built on January 28, 1887. The Eiffel tower is a structure made of Wrought-Iron, and lives on the streets of Paris, on the Champ de Mars (which means the field of mars), the Eiffel Tower is named after the engineer Gustav Eiffel, whose company built and designed almost all of the Eiffel tower. We all know that the Eiffel tower is what Paris is known for, but why is the Eiffel tower so famous? Well, the answer is that the Eiffel tower is made of 12,000 different components, and 2,500,000 rivets all designed and assembled to handle wind pressure. The Eiffel tower was built to provide the arched entranceway to the 1889 world’s fair in Paris.



2. The Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty! The awesome copper lady who stands on New York Harbor, holding a torch above her head, and a tabula ansata (a tablet with handles) and inscribed on the tabula ansata is the date of the U.S. Declaration of independence, in roman. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from France, the person that made the Statue of Liberty is French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. The Statue of Liberty represents American Independence. The official name of the statue is, Liberty enlightening the world, before its current name.



3. The Taj Mahal

You wouldn’t exactly think that a grave is one of the most famous sights in the world right? Wrong! The Taj Mahal was built to house the tomb of the wife of the emperor Shah Jahan, this structure is an ivory-white mausoleum on the southern bank of the Yamuna river in Agra, India. The Taj Mahal is famous for its architecture. ore than 22,000 people worked on that building. Taj Mahal is considered one of the most beautiful buildings ever created.




4. The Pyramids of Egypt

The Pyramids of Egypt will be one of the largest structures you will see in the world, and the structure’s geometric shape makes it unique and more different than any structure you’ve seen before. The Pyramids were built to serve as tombs, they housed the mummified bodies of the pharaohs. One fact about the Pyramids is that the Egyptians saw the shape of the pyramids as a way of providing new life to the dead. The first pyramid ever built was in 2630 B.C. for the third dynasty King Djoser.





5. The Great Wall of China

People say that you can see the great wall of china all the way from the moon, well that’s because the great wall of china is 21,196 kilometers, Woah! That’s a lot of ground to cover!. The great wall of China was built for protection against the northern Mongolians, and the Huns. The wall was built 2,000 years ago by Qin Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of China. The mortar used to bind the stones in the great wall of china was made out of rice flour, pretty strong right?.







6. Machu Picchu

.This is one legit mountain, I mean just look at the picture! Isn't it awesome? The Mountain Machu Picchu is on the outside of Peru, this mountain is known for its Inca Ruins and mountain Terraces, and also was believed to be the official home of the Incas. Machu Picchu is also known as the lost city of the Incas. The Lost City of the Incas was built in the mid-fifteenth century. It is believed that the mountain Machu Picchu is built by Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui, the ninth ruler of Inca, in the mid-1400s





7. The Roman Colosseum


The Colosseum of Rome is one of the most historical landmarks, and there is not a lot of people that don’t know about this special amphitheater, and what its been through. The Colosseum of Rome is over 2,000 years old and is also originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater. The Colosseum was used for Gladiator Combats and public events in Ancient Rome. The Roman poet Virgil designed the Roman Colosseum and died before it was built, so Emperor Vespasian and his son Titus built the Colosseum. The reason the Roman Colosseum look’s so damaged is that it was damaged by lightning and earthquakes, and even more severely damaged by vandalism, the beautiful marble seats vanished, and was treated more as a quarry.
