A Few Ways to Feel the Holiday Spirit During These Hard Times

By: Ella Leatherman

Hi it's your favorite 12 year-old blogger, Ella! Today I'm here to share a few different ways to feel the holiday spirit during Covid. I know it can be hard without the rest of your family and friends but there is still light in this path of darkness. Most of these activities are Christmas themed but it can apply to everyone. Hope you enjoy!

1. Grab some hot chocolate. I don't personally like it, I've had bad experiences with it, like spilling it in a museum in front of a security guard and running away helplessly, but that's another story. Hot Chocolate is very hot and if you are playing in the snow, it's a cozy sight to come back to.

2. Playing in the snow. It is so fun and it is perfect to get your mind off something like Covid. Grab that snow! Make a snowman/snowlady! Have a snowball fight with the ones around you! Remember to do this safely.

3. Get your favorite blanket and binge your favorite show! Make sure your blanket is super big because you really have the coziness and warmth. I recommend weighted blankets for this because it reduces stress and is very warm and cozy.

4. Decorate for Christmas/any other holiday in December. Holidays are exciting right? Decorate to excite you!

5. Read your favorite book. Books are just so relaxing. No more explanation, am I right bookworms?

6. Listen to Christmas songs. They HAVE to get you into the spirit. That's what there for!

7. Finally, spend time with family. I could ramble on about how important this is, but give LOVE to your LOVED ones.

Those are my 7 suggestions to get you into the Holiday Spirit! I hope you use these tips, and they cheered you up. Have a great winter break STEAM! Ella signing off!
