Japanese Fluffy Cheesecake


About the dessert

Japanese cheesecake was first made

in the late 1960’s by chef Tomotaro Kuzuro.

You probably just assumed Japanese

Cheesecake was discovered in Japan, if so,

you thought wrong. The famous dish was

actually invented in Berlin, Germany when

chef Kuzuno found a German cheesecake

called Kasekuchen. He mixed it with american

Cheesecake and invented Japanese cheesecake.

Ingredients


  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese

  • ¼ cup milk

  • 2 egg yolks

  • ¼ cup white sugar, divided

  • 2 egg whites

  • ⅓ teaspoon cream of tartar

  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ tablespoons cornstarch
