Indoor plants have been increasingly popular lately because of interior design but you might not know how good they actually are for you. Here are _ reasons why indoor plants can help you
1. Indoor plants may boost your productivity
A UK study found bringing plants into your cubicle or office can increase productivity by up to 15%. Another study found that 10% of sick days were caused by lack of nature and natural light in the office.
2. Plants can reduce stress levels
Multiple experiments have found that plants can help reduce stress levels. In one study for example participants were given two different tasks. One was a computer task and one was repotting a plant. The results show that the participants that were working with the plants had reduced stress levels, but the participants that were doing the computer task had spiked heart rate and blood pressure.
3. Plants can improve the quality of your air.
This one is rather obvious but there are some plants that are more effective at cleaning the air than some:
Areca, Lady and Bamboo Palms
Ficus Tree
Spider Plant
Rubber Tree
Boston Fern
4. They can help promote healing
Houseplants have also been found to help your mental and physical health. 28 new houseplants were put into a rehab center for heart and lung disease patients. Over the course of three weeks the patient’s health and well being had improved drastically compared to patients without the plants indoors.
5. Décor
The last benefit for having indoor plants is that it is a good way to jazz up some of your boring rooms. Even if you are a beginner you can put some succulents up because they only require little attention. You can put some up on your windowsill or hang them from the ceiling. You can even have vine-like plants that go through multiple rooms!
