Sweet, thick, and bursting with mango flavor, Mango Lassi is a delicious drink filled with a bunch of nutritional value!
Lassi is a mix of yogurt, spices, water, and in this case, fruit! Sweet lassis have the consistency of a milkshake, while other lassis tend to have the density of Doogh which, is a Turkish drink that's slightly thinner than a milkshake.
ORIGIN:
The thought of lassis originated around 1000 B.C. and mainly used delicate fruits or pure spices.
INGREDIENTS:
(Serving amount and size: Around two servings)
Mango pulp - 1 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Optional sugar- 1 tbsp
Plain yogurt - 1 cup
Optional Milk - 1/4 cup (depends on how thin you want it)
Optional Nuts- I recommend it as a garnish, but you can blend about 2 tbsp in there
DIRECTIONS:
1. Blend all of the ingredients together in a mixer until smooth, and adjust consistency with milk.
2. Garnish with mixed nuts (optional) i.e. pistachios, walnuts, almonds.
3. Pour into glasses and chill before enjoying!
TIPS:
If you are Vegan you can definitely substitute the yogurt and milk with almond substitutes.
Please do not store the lassi in the fridge for over a day, it usually is best served fresh.
