We just finished week 9, so about halfway through the season. Now is the perfect time to make predictions for the NFL Playoffs. In this article, I will break down who will make it and advance in the playoffs based on players and their talent, how difficult their schedule is, and their performance so far.
Who will make the playoffs in the AFC conference? The #1 seed is the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are the only undefeated team left and have played really well. This team has the old quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and receiver Juju Smith Schuster. They also have a good defense with linebacker T.J Watt and safety Mikah Fitzpatrik. They also have a pretty easy schedule. Their current record stands at 8-0, and their prediction record is 14-2.
At the #2 seed is the Kansas City Chiefs, the Reigning champions. With quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelcie, and an amazing offensive line, this is the most unstoppable passing offense and maybe even just the most unstoppable offense, too. They also have defensive tackle Chris Jones and safety Tyrann Mathieu for defense. Many would say this is the best team in the league. Their current record is 7-1, and the end record prediction is 13-3.
The #3 seed is the Tennessee Titans. This is a good team with Heisman running back Derrick Henry, safety Kevin Byrd, and linebacker Jadevion Clowney. Their current record is 6-2, and their prediction record is 12-4.
The #4 seed is the Buffalo Bills. The Bills for the last few years have been a defensive team, but this year it is more about the offense. They have Josh Allen who has been doing really well this year and have receiver Stephan Diggs. However they still have a not bad defense with cornerback Tre’Davious White, and safety Micah Hyde. Their current record is 7-2, and their prediction record of 12-4.
The #5 seed is the Baltimore Ravens. A good team with Lamar Jackson as a quarterback, Mark Andrews as tight end. For defense they have defensive end Calais Campbell, and cornerbacks Marcus Peters, and Marlon Humphrey. The Ravens run a lot of option and running plays. They also have an easier schedule. Their current record is 6-2, and their predictions record is 12-4.
The #6 seed is the Las Vegas Raiders. This team beat the Chiefs, which a lot of people are surprised about. They have running back Josh Jacobs and tight end Darren Waller. They are a well all around team. Their current record is 5-3, and the team’s prediction record is 10-6
Finally, the #7 seed is the Cleveland Browns. This team is historically bad because they have never made it to a Superbowl and had an all-losing season. However, they have done well this season so far unlike usual. They don’t have a very difficult schedule. They have Kareem Hunt who was the Chiefs’ running back and got 40 fantasy points in his first week, and tight end Austin Hooper. On defense they have defensive end Myles Garrett. The current record for the Cleveland Browns is 5-3, and the team's prediction record is 10-6.
Now, let’s discuss who will make the playoffs in the NFC conference. The #1 seed is the Seattle Seahawks. Russel Wilson is an amazing quarterback along with Tyler Lockett, and Chris Carson at running back. They also have Bobby Wagner at linebacker and safety Jamal Adams for defense. Also, their upcoming schedule is one of the easier schedules in the league. Their current record is 6-2, and they have a prediction record of 12-4.
The #2 seed is the New Orleans Saints. This team has some very good players: offensively they have Alvin Kamara at running back. The veteran quarterback Drew Brees who surprisingly isn’t doing as good as usual. They also Michel Thomas, who some would say is the greatest receiver in the league. They also have Camron Jordan as a defensive end. Their current record is 6-2, and they have a prediction record of 12-4.
The #3 seed is the Green Bay Packers. With a combination of Aaron Rodgers, one of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL, a receiver like Davante Adams, and running back Aaron Jones, the team is good. They also have a strong defense, with cornerback Jarie Alexander and linebacker Za’Darius Smith. Their current record is 6-2, and the prediction record is 12-4.
The #4 seed is the Philadelphia Eagles. The division for the Eagles is the worst one in the league but one team has to make it. Now that Presscott is injured for the Cowboys the Eagles are the best team in the conference. Unfortunately for the Eagles Miles Sanders and Zach Ertz are injured for now. They still have defensive end Fletcher Cox, and cornerback Darius Slay. Their current record is 3-4-1, and their prediction record stands at 7-8-1.
The #5 seed is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers have one of the best if not the best quarterback ever, Tom Brady (he is old now though), receivers Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and just got Antonio Brown. On defense they have linebacker Shaquil Barret and Linebacker Lavonte David. Their current record is 6-3, and they have a prediction record of 11-5.
The #6 seed is the Arizona Cardinals. They have Kyler Murry, the heisman quarterback, and receiver Deandre Hopkins. On defense they have defensive end Chandler Jones, cornerback Patrick Peterson, and safety Budda Baker. Current record is 5-3, and their prediction record is 11-5.
Last but not least, the #7 seed is the Los Angeles Rams. They have receiver Cooper Cupp on offense. On defense they have defensive tackle Arron Donald, and cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The current record is 5-3, and the prediction record is 10-6.
Round one of AFC games will start with the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Cleveland Browns, and the Chiefs will win. Next, with the Tennessee Titans vs. the Los Angeles Rams, the Titans will win. Finally, with the Buffalo Bills vs. the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore will win.
Round one of NFC games will first have the New Orleans Saints vs. the Los Angeles Rams, and the Saints will win. Next, the Green Bay Packers vs. the Arizona Cardinals, and the Packers will win. Last but not least will be the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Buccaneers will win.
AFC Semi Finals will first have the Baltimore Ravens beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Kansas City Chiefs will beat the Tennessee Titans. As for the NFC Semifinals, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will beat the Seattle Seahawks, and the Saints will prevail against the Packers.
During the AFC conference Finals, the Kansas City Chiefs will beat the Baltimore Ravens. In the NFC conference Finals, the #5 seed New Orleans Saints will beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As for the most watched televised program in the U.S, Super Bowl LV, the Kansas City Chiefs will again win the Super Bowl against the New Orleans Saints with a score of 34-24. Patrick Mahomes will win Super Bowl 55 MVP.
These are my early predictions for the NFL playoffs. Do you agree? If not, what do you think will happen?
