Introduction:
Before you read The Doggy Goose Chase, I want to say, Take Notes. Starting in like second grade and until now, I've been writing personal narratives EVERY YEAR. I know, repetitive. But through my 5 years of writing these, I've noticed that you learn something new about it every new narrative. Something that will make your memoir POP out from the previous years. Something that will make it BETTER. So make sure you look for those things in class, I guarantee if you pay attention, you'll write something you are proud of. And no, I got a good grade. I got 98%, which is equal to an A. I did change a few slight things, thanks to my teacher, Mr. Cahill.
The doggy goose chase. (A stubborn goose in fact.)

I lost electricity that day, so as the gene Z kid I am, I was very bored. Lying on my bed thinking how I can survive without my iPad, I heard a loud scream. “My Mom!” I thought to myself. “She probably saw a centipede, ew.” So I scrambled out my bedroom door to my living room. She had a frantic look on her face. “Wow, it must have been really big.” But the front door was wide open. She looked at me with big eyes. “Crosby ran out when I was trying to get the mail.”
I panicked. “CROSBY WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU DAD IS NOT HOME HE CAN’T CHASE AFTER YOU BAD TIMING CROSBY WHY?” As you can see, my inner Fear is going bananas. I could not think about if the mail was for me or not, my little dog is on the streets, vulnerable to cars.
“What are you waiting for? Get him!” My mom urged.
“Ok Ok!” I screeched.
I dove out of the front door and scrambled on the sidewalk. “This is really a terrible time.” I thought as my slippers (Not bunny, that’s embarrassing.) clip clapped on the sidewalk as I ran. Crosby is a pretty fast dog. When I try to pet him sometimes, he runs off. I try to catch him, but I almost never do. So he was far in front of me, it was like trying to catch a fish with your bare hands.
He stopped a couple times, to sniff trees and to try to mark his territory with you know what. I was confident that I could get him, but it was like he had a metal detector, he knew when I was close, so he powered on again once I was a few feet behind him.
“So tired…” I cried once I crossed the street. I had to stop a couple times to catch my breath, tempted to stop for a few more minutes than I should, to enjoy the marvelous view of Farmington High School, but Crosby was in danger. Once I was almost down the second block, I thought I was doomed. I yelled for Crosby a couple more times, in desperation, even though I knew he wouldn’t come. That dog is a piece of work.
One thing I didn’t know was that a car was following us. The car of a guardian angel. After a minute or two of following us, she stopped her car. Crosby was finally distracted! She got out and pulled out some treats. (I don’t know where the treats came from, maybe she's a witch, or she had her own dog in her car.)
“Come here doggy!” She cooed.
I stopped to pick him up. “Thank you so much!” I cried in happiness, I was pretty embarrassed, slippers, messy hair, and all.
“You’re welcome.” she said, as she climbed back into her car. Is it just me or was she glowing? It’s probably the sun but she really is a guardian angel. I waved as she drove away.
“Now to get you home you little doofus, you are in so much trouble.” I said to Crosby. I was already pretty tired. But to carry around a heavy dog up two blocks, that's no fun. After a few minutes of feeling like I’m in a desert, walking with no end, I saw my mom’s car in the distance.
“HIIIIIII.” I moaned in relief.
“Oh, I was so worried about you, you didn’t come back for a while, so I got the car.” Mom replied, also in relief.
I lifted Crosby into the car and we drove for a hot second to get home.
“YOU ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE CROSBY.” My mom screamed.
Even with no electricity, I was so happy to be home, and I decided to have a chill session, which was great, even without WiFi. Remember to be like that lady, spread kindness, even to strangers. Be a guardian angel to someone, it will make this world a better place if we all choose to be kind.
