“Huh? Where am I?” Jordan asks as he blinks. He looks around and he seems in his room, but darker. He stands up and heads out of his bedroom, towards the living room.
“Mom?” Jordan asks. “Dad?” No response. “Where is everyone?” Questions Jordan. He picks up his phone and dialed his Mom’s number. No one picked up. It was the same for his Dad’s number. “No one’s picking up.. What do I do now?” thought Jordan. “Well I am a bit hungry so why not get something to eat?” He entered the kitchen and poured himself a glass of milk and grabbed some cookies from the cookie jar on top of the fridge. Sitting down on the couch, He noticed something vibrating. Jordan didn’t think much of it and ignored it. After a while, the vibrations tuned down. Jordan didn’t feel any more vibrations until everything started to shake. “EARTHQUAKE!” Jordan yelled to himself as he hid himself under the dining table in the kitchen. He was ready for these types of situations, until the floor of his house began to crack, creating trenches that go deep down. Not knowing what to do, he scrambled to his feet, trying to get out of his house before the house crashed to bits. The roof started to cave in, giving Jordan very limited time to save his life. Huge bits of the ceiling concrete on his left, right, and back. His only chance to survive was to go straight, towards the front door. He ran, but a huge trench formed in front of his path and grabbed him, swallowing him. He was falling now, into what felt like a never ending hole. “AHHHHHH!” Jordan screamed as he fell deeper into the dark hole.
“This is it.” Jordan thought. “This is where my life ends.” He shut his eyes tight, clenched his fists and waited for the inevitable. But.. the harsh air from the fall stopped hitting Jordan. He slowly opened his eyes and almost choked. “I don’t think this trench will ever end,” Jordan thought looking down. “But floating like this is cool too!” He went side to side testing the phenomenon. “I could always go back up where the house is,” Jordan said, “ But I want to know if there is an end to this place.” Jordan glares down a dark dim hole “Hello!?” Jordan screamed down the hole as the trench echoed back. He silently floated down and yelled again, “Hello?”
“Hello, Jordan.” A deep voice answered. Jordan jumped, not expecting an answer.
“Who are you?,” Jordan stuttered.
“You don’t know who I am?” the voice asked, surprised. “I am the destruction of yours and everyone else’s future. Soon I will take over the powers that are headed toward me, using them to create an army, to destroy utter creatures like you.”
“Creatures...?,” Jordan shivered, “by that you mean humans?”
“Clueless child, have you not noticed your powers trying to enter your blood?” “You have something special given to you by someone who is very close to you..”
“What are you talking about?!” Jordan asks clueless.
“You’ll find out soon enough, Jordan. Just wait until your future arrives. You might even have the chance to meet me. I have a feeling that I will be seeing you again very soon.”
And with that, he vanished, his black cloak swaying behind him.
“Wait, come back, who are you?” Jordan asks, but there is only an eerie science.
He looks around him, only to be met with the same dark walls from the fall. He jumped, trying to regain his floating power, but it was useless. He jumped again, and again, harder each time. Still useless. “How will I get back home now?” Jordan thought, sulking. He sat with his back to the crooked wall of the trench, trying to calm himself from asking unanswerable questions. He massaged the area between his eyes, trying to think of a way to get out. His thoughts were interrupted by a glowing light, hidden in a small crook in the wall opposite of where he was sitting. He slowly got up, cautious to not stumble on the crumbly ground. He kneeled down once he reached the light, trying to dig it out. He got a portion of the dirt off, his hands already sore.
He tightly gripped the light, as Jordan realized it was some type of crystal. He pulled at it, successfully ripping it out from the trench’s walls. The heavy, yet mesmerizing clump of clear rock sitting in his hand made him tense and stiff, but he wasn’t doing that. The rock was. Jordan tried moving his hands, but couldn’t, since it was paralyzed due to the crystal. He frantically dropped the rock and moved his hand, and little by little, did it move again. He poked his head through the hole which the crystal came out of, only to see many different crystals, all of them in different colors. “Is this what the figure was talking about, these powers? But these don’t look like power crystals to me, instead, they look, cursed.” Jordan’s eyes grew wide, his pupils becoming slim due to the stinging light of the crystals. He roughly pulled his head out of the hole, stepping back and stumbling in confusion. Shaking his head, he asked, “ I’m human, as far as I know. So why, what is happening?”
